There's been a lot of news lately about the differences in Democrats and Republicans and the pure hatred they have for each other. My wife and I have friends who are always posting political stuff onto Facebook and I also have co-workers who send regular emails about it.
Why does the United States of America need Democrats and Republicans? Are we not a Country who strives to be "One". Are we not a Country who is trying to get past our racial differences and consider ourselves a melting pot? I would consider our government to be the most divisive off all and each one of our governmental officials have a HUGE influence on the American people and what we believe. It's a lot like religion....why would I choose to believe something someone is trying to preach when that particular person doesn't believe it themselves.
I believe that our Country needs to rethink it's values and consider where we want to go as a nation and what kind of life we want to provide our Children. If other Countries are passing by us and having great success with Healthcare and Technology in various areas, why would we NOT grab onto those ideas and shape them so they fit into our society? Why are many Americans afraid of change and overhaul of something that doesn't work? Why try and tell us it works when you know it doesn't?
